ZACKARY PETOT
Zackary Petot is a St. Louis-based artist, curator, and educator specializing in printmaking. With a passion for exploring visual narratives within the LGBTQ+ community, his work examines queer codes—both those that persist in contemporary culture and those that have been lost to time. Petot earned his Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of North Texas in 2018 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialization in Printmaking from Southeast Missouri State University in 2014. His artistic practice incorporates various printmaking techniques, including lithography, etching, silkscreen, and relief, often blending traditional methods with contemporary themes to create thought-provoking works.
Beyond his artistic practice, Zackary has played a significant role in the St. Louis arts community through curatorial and educational work. He currently serves as the Executive and Artistic Director of the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, where he oversees exhibitions, community programming, and artist engagement. Additionally, he has taught printmaking and art appreciation courses at St. Louis Community College and St. Charles Community College, helping shape the next generation of artists. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and he has been featured in several art publications. Committed to fostering inclusivity in the arts, Petot has also moderated panels on LGBTQIA+ representation and served as a juror for art competitions, further solidifying his impact in both the academic and fine arts communities.
